Soda linked to Cancer

Dr. Rhonda Steinke, ND

A recent study published on Feb. 8th in Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention showed that consumers who drink two or more soft drinks per week were 87% more likely to contract pancreatic cancer than those who mostly avoided soda.  This statistic was adjusted for factors such as smoking and was conducted on Chinese men and women in Singapore.  This study is consistent with three U.S. studies showing links between soft drinks and cancer.

Although Pancreatic Cancer is rare it is one of the deadliest cancers.  Regardless of the type of cancer there are many other studies showing links between dietary sugars and cancer.  Hopefully this will make you think twice about dessert.
